Mantua 4-4-0

I'm also building a Mantua loco, here are some progress phots / Ik ben ook bezig met een Mantua loc, hier enige voortgangs foto's:

We bouwen een paar loc's / Building some loco's

Ook in model moet ik een aantal 4-4-0 loc's hebben. Daarvoor heb ik exemplaren van Rivarossi maar ook van Mantua ter beschikking. Nadat ik decals heb laten komen van Microscale heb ik besloten 2 locs te maken; 1 voor de noordelijken, een USMRR loc dus (de Rivarossi) en 1 voor het zuiden; de "General", fameus van film en boek (en dat wordt de Mantua).

I also need models of 4-4-0 locos. For that I have models of Rivarossi as well from Mantua. After ordering decalsheets at Microscale I decided to build me 2 loco's: 1 for the North, a USMRR loc (the Rivarossi) and 1 for the South and that will be the "General" well known from movie and books. This one will be build from the Mantua model.

4-4-0 research in the California State Railway museum USA

Momenteel zijn we in de States, en daar ben ik naar Sacramento geweest. Daar is een prachtig spoorwegmuseum die een aantal mooie locomotieven heeft staan. 2 daarvan zijn Genoa's ofwel 4-4-0'en. Ik heb ze uitgebreid gefotografeerd en wilde jullie dat niet onthouden / At the moment  I'm on vacation in America and I went to Sacramento. They have a great railwaymuseum there which houses 2 fantastic restored 4-4-0 Genoa's:

Ik heb veel foto's gemaakt om ze te bestuderen. Voor het Civil War project is dit welkome informatie. Als je ze in het echt ziet zijn ze best wel indrukwekkend / I made a lot of pictures to study them later. If you see them in real they are still impressive to see. For my Civil War project is this valuable information.

Ik heb een fijne middag gehad. Op een later tijdstip zal ik meer detailfoto's plaatsen / I had a real fine afternoon there! Later on I will place more pictures.
