Building track again!

Tonight I went on with the tracklaying. Despite my backproblems I went on with the help of extra stools, bands around my back and so on.... I managed the front track, at the end it is secured with 2 brass screws on which I soldered the rail:

The rail for the second track already lies in place, so I can work on it  tomorrow.

And more!

I went on with figures and stuff from Redoubt Enterprises. This is the assembled set that will go around the campfire:

Stack of musket rifles go in front of the tents:

RE does there figures with seperate heads, that way you can adapt these figures to your own needs:

The set with seated figures is great, here are two of the guys on the loaded flatcar:

And in detail and close-up:

They have a 32-pounder that fits well on the gun flatcar:

And a overview of the camp:

Two flats with there gun loads. Can anybody tell me how these things where secured? Can't find anything on that:

The gun site. It will have a lot of detail when finished:

And again from another angle. I already like it!:

Building and couplers

Today I went on with the board and batten, therefore I made smaller strips and glued them on the seams of the underlaying broader ones:

And later on I made the front, also fitted the Grandt Line window:

I fixed the coupler housing with a screw so that it won't fall off:

Building couplers and other stuff

Tonight I build 13 coupler houses with the link and pin. They are Wiseman and fitted for Kadee housing. This is my workspot at the table in the livingroom:

I start with the standard box, cut off the ears, lay in the 232 spring from Kadee, there is the coupler that will fit in the lid and then the whole box with coupler. I painted the middle part of the coupler so that it will keep moving when I paint the heads of the couplers:

6 pair ready for fitting under a car:

Number 13 had still to be placed under the already finished flatcar:

My wife finished the top of the roof with shingles, here she places a dot of white glue:

And then she lays in the shingle with the tip of a scalpel knfe:

Starting the new year

Well, its a new year! I started this morning with a way to cut smaller planks for the board and batten method. For that I started with 2 stirsticks glued to my building board:

To cut one in half I put it in between the other 2:

Cit it with a steel ruler on them:

And there you have 2 straight halves:

And one can make its own stack:
